  • Morgantown City is seeking bids from engineering firms to design a trash collection system behind the Lock and Dam on the Monongahela River to reduce debris affecting Waterfront Place and parks; firms must submit proposals by 3 p.m. on Jan. 22 (the project is funded by a federal grant).  MetroNews
  • WVU president Michael Benson said the board is looking to update Hope Coliseum—adding air conditioning and more seats—and to expand the School of Medicine with extra lecture halls as lawmakers review plans on Jan. 14.  The Dominion Post

  • The 2025 sports year in Morgantown saw eight state championships celebrated (from Morgantown's sixth state football title to UHS wrestling’s back-to-back win) and a major coaching change as WVU men's basketball welcomed Ross Hodge after Darian DeVries left on March 18.  The Dominion Post
