- ➤ The City of Morgantown partners with LifeBridge AmeriCorps and United Way to coordinate a month-long Pantry Restock Project in honor of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Month of Service that will collect nonperishable food donations at City Hall and the Downtown Public Safety Building from January 1 through 31. BUSINESS NEWS
- ➤ West Virginia University backed the formation of Mission Critical Materials, LLC on Dec. 19 to bring its rare earth element technologies to market. The new company will refine research into a high-grade rare earth oxide for commercial use. The Dominion Post
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ The West Virginia Association of Counties is donating to food banks to help families, children, and seniors face rising holiday food demand. The donation will support food banks statewide to ease shortages during the season. WV News
- ➤ The West Virginia First Foundation announced awarding $17.8 million in Momentum Initiative Grants to 76 projects, including over $2.6 million in Region IV (Monongalia, Marion and Preston counties). The funding supports statewide programs in foster care and recovery housing. The Dominion Post
