- ➤ Marshall University and WVU partnered to form the West Virginia Grant Resource Centers, which since 2023 secured over $50 million for economic and workforce projects across the state; officials said the Centers supported 124 awards (creating or sustaining 270 jobs) following a Wednesday announcement. - ➤ At its final Board meeting on Friday, Dec. 19, WVU reported a 10-year high in applications as graduation rates improved. The Board also approved a new Bachelor of Music program in Commercial Music and Technology—set to launch Fall 2026—to help students engage with a growing commercial music industry. WVU Today
- ➤ WVUs President Michael T. Benson discussed his first semester at the university during an interview with U92 on Friday, Dec. 19 (The Moose). West Virginia University
- ➤ WVU Extension will host a 4-H Code Camp for middle and high school students from Feb. 20-22 at Jackson's Mill in Weston, where participants will learn behind-the-scenes problem-solving through hands-on activities. WV News

- ➤ Governor Patrick Morrisey requested Purple Hearts for West Virginia National Guard members—Specialist Sarah Beckstrom, who was killed, and Staff Sgt. Andrew Wolfe, who was critically injured while on duty in Washington, D.C.—acknowledging their sacrifice during the attack. WDTV

- ➤ Vandalia Health held a ribbon cutting in Morgantown Friday for two Caring Cottages that offer patients and families a place to stay when traveling for care + the one-bedroom units can sleep up to four and include a bathroom, shower, and washing machine. WDTV
