- ➤ Durbin & Greenbrier Valley Railroad will restore service to Barbour County in January 2026 with two trips. The Belington trip leaves at 2 p.m. on Sundays while the Elkins trip departs at 11 a.m. on Fridays and Saturdays between Jan. 16 and Feb. 28, featuring live music and artist marketplace. WDTV

- ➤ Fairmont State University students Emma Christie and Olivia Lowther were accepted into the Pre-Osteopathic Medicine Program — a direct path to med school — which guarantees them a spot at West Virginia School of Osteopathic Medicine. WV News
- ➤ Faculty and staff are asked to recommend students with strong ambassador qualities to be considered for the next Mountaineer mascot. When a recommendation is submitted, the student will receive an email suggesting that they apply for the role. West Virginia University

- ➤ Five hospitals in West Virginia were named on Forbes' inaugural Top Hospitals list using ratings based on patient outcomes + care best practices. The list includes Morgantown’s J.W.
