  • In Phillippi, David Rowan’s nonprofit Annie’s Smile hosts a toy drive this Christmas season to help children unwrap gifts—created after his daughter passed on Christmas, the charity also offers year-round support for special needs kids and families in crisis.  WDTV

  • Morgantown celebrated Small Business Saturday today with a ribbon cutting led by Mayor Danielle Trumble and Santa Claus on High Street+the event, hosted at the Retail Lab by WVU students and founded in 2010, honors local shops that keep money in the community.  WDTV

HEALTH NEWS

  • Milan Puskar Health Right’s LIGHT needle exchange program, which marked its 10-year anniversary in August, distributed 235,435 syringes and collected 206,437 used ones between October 2024 and September 2025—helping reduce local overdoses with over 3,000 Narcan doses. The program recorded 1,457 visits from 594 unique individuals and provided wound care kits and health screenings while it awaits a behavioral health center license visit expected in early December.  The Dominion Post
  • On the day before Thanksgiving, MCHD Dentistry at 453 Van Voorhis Rd. offered free dental cleanings and checkups to uninsured adults as part of its Healthy Smiles Day — a tradition that meets a need despite expanded Medicaid dental benefits.
