  • Gov. Patrick Morrisey celebrated federal approval of West Virginia’s BEAD Program application & he said the milestone will boost internet access for local communities.  WV News
  • The West Virginia Governor’s Highway Safety Program will encourage families to talk about driving skills and make backup plans ahead of Older Driver Safety Awareness Week — Dec. 1-5. The program hopes to start open discussions on safety for older drivers in the community.  WV News

SPORTS NEWS

  • In Morgantown today, West Virginia faces No. 5 Texas Tech at Mountaineer Field in a season finale that tests both teams’ strengths. The Red Raiders—led by standout linebacker Jacob Rodriguez and quarterback Behren Morton—aim to clinch a berth in the Big 12 Championship and secure a spot in the College Football Playoff.  MetroNews
  • In his second season, University High coach Eric Snyder leads his team to the Class AAAA state semifinals and will travel to Martinsburg this weekend as he takes over from a long-time coach. Meanwhile, Clay-Battelle coach Aaron LaPoe will host No. 7 Cameron today in his program’s first semifinal game since 2014.  The Dominion Post
  • Morgantown High senior Paige Brink earned her third first-team all-state volleyball honor after finishing the season with 349 kills at a 44% rate, 470 serve receptions, 241 digs, and 75 aces—she was named Ohio Valley Athletic Conference 5A volleyball Player of the Year.   • The WVU men’s basketball team faces Mercyhurst today at 3 p.m.—Troy transfer Jackson Fields will make his season debut after recovering from wrist surgery, and Chance Moore will also see action as the team works to improve after a recent loss.   • West Virginia hosts its season finale today against Texas Tech as Rich Rodriguez wraps up his first year back with a team that has won four games, including one key win over a ranked opponent. Experts say Texas Tech, the strongest team in the Big 12, is favored to win by at least 20 points—posing a major test that may spark an upset.  The Dominion Post
