- ➤ The MSIRHR program at the John Chambers College of Business and Economics is holding a basic needs drive from November 10 to 19 that will collect canned goods, non-perishable food and hygiene products to help food banks and blessing boxes across North Central West Virginia—items can be dropped off at Reynolds Hall, Room 3134 or arranged for campus pickup. - ➤ WVU Press is selling a range of publications at the Mountaineer Week Arts & Craft Fair at Mountainlair this weekend—titles include a book on Mountaineer football history, a memoir about the cable modem, and a novel on fame and destiny. - ➤ Educators across North Central West Virginia are preparing for a new retention clause under the Third Grade Success Act set to take effect in 2026—local schools are already revising practices to meet the upcoming rules. WV News
- ➤ University Police will host an open self-defense training session called P.R.O.T.E.C.T. on Nov. 19 from 5 to 9 p.m. in the Student Health Building Room 101 for faculty, staff, students and community members to learn threat recognition and escape techniques. - ➤ The WVU Bookstore hosted a special anniversary activation on Friday, November 7 from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.—offering a walk-through photo history and a retro-inspired PRT collection that celebrated the 50-year milestone of the iconic campus project. West Virginia University
- ➤ At the Board of Governors meeting on Nov. 7, WVU President Michael T. Benson announced a record retention rate of over 85% at the Morgantown Campus and a more than 7% rise in first-time freshman enrollment while unveiling his new Strategic Compass for the university's future. The Board also approved capital projects for athletics — including a $150 million phase to renovate the press box at Milan Puskar Stadium—and a $4.9 million upgrade at PSC Science Hall Lab to modernize facilities.
