EDUCATION NEWS

  • The Department of Education will host the first-ever Farm to School Conference starting Tuesday morning at 7:30 a.m. at Marriott Waterfront in Morgantown—bringing together educators, farmers and students to build local food partnerships and highlight contests in art and cooking.  MetroNews

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • State officials are now accepting public comments on the Brandonville Solar project—if approved, it will produce 59 megawatts from 1,000 acres and become operational by late 2027. Local residents have raised concerns about farmland loss and wildlife impacts as the project is planned between Glade Run and Big Sandy Creek near Brandonville.  MetroNews

SPORTS NEWS

  • Freshman quarterback Scott Fox Jr. led the Mountaineers to a 45-35 upset win over No.22 Houston in his third start, passing safely and running in for two touchdowns. Coach Rich Rodriguez said his performance—after a slight injury—shows he has a chance to compete for the starting job in upcoming games.  The Dominion Post
  • WVU guard Sydney Shaw, who improved her defense last season, is set to lead the team when they host Purdue Ft. Wayne today at 7 p.m. in Hope Coliseum — head coach Mark Kellogg said her enhanced role is expected to boost team chemistry as they start the 2025-26 season.  The Dominion Post
