- ➤ Linda Hall’s annual Turkish Bazaar will be held November 3–5 at Euro-Suites Hotel from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.—sellers will offer Turkish goods at low prices with most items costing $15 or less and a $1 minimum donation given to benefit Morgantown Community Kitchen. Morgantown Magazine
- ➤ Main Street Morgantown is hosting its annual Downtown Trick-or-Treat event on Thursday to celebrate Halloween, inviting families to enjoy safe activities along the main street (a longstanding local tradition). WV News

- ➤ West Virginia University President Michael T. Benson toured Berkeley and Jefferson Counties during his eastern panhandle visit—stopping at a Proctor and Gamble facility, an agriculture extension farm, and WVU Medicine. He said the region’s strong manufacturing and quality high schools offer a chance to draw more local students—helping to keep jobs and growth in the state. MetroNews

Eugene Bennett In-House Chemistry Symposium from November 3rd to 7th at Mountainlair and Clark Hall to learn about new chemistry research through oral and poster presentations — the event will also include plenary sessions, career workshops and a community-focused Discover Chemistry activity. - ➤ Governor Patrick Morrisey started a state donation drive for food banks on Tuesday—using up to $13 million in matching funds to help reach $26 million in total food aid—because delayed SNAP payments from a government shutdown left many West Virginians in need. WDTV
HEALTH NEWS
- ➤ If the proposal is approved, public employee health premiums will rise about 3% next July with an extra $200 charge for spouse coverage. PEIA will hold public hearings in Wheeling, Beckley, Martinsburg, Charleston and Morgantown—giving employees and the public a chance to share their feedback—before moving forward with the plan. - ➤ WVU Medicine Children’s Hospital received a $28 million gift from Thomas Golisano and was renamed WVU Medicine Golisano Children’s — a change that will speed up pediatric care innovation and add the hospital to a national alliance of nine children’s hospitals — as announced Tuesday. MetroNews
