- ➤ Mountaineer Gas Company customers will see their monthly bills rise starting November 1 as the company files a new rate proposal with the state Public Service Commission — the filing projects a 15.6% increase for residential accounts and higher hikes for commercial, industrial, and resale users, with final approval expected early next year. - ➤ Laya Chennuru and Christopher Morrison were named WVU's Homecoming Royalty Saturday at halftime during the football game against Texas Christian University—both earned top scores among nine finalists based on their applications, interviews, and peer voting. - ➤ Communities in Schools virtual pantries will receive a $1 million donation to provide each public school $1,500 for food, clothing and hygiene supplies for students.
