- ➤ A potential SNAP freeze may delay benefits for over 277000 West Virginians as single mother Sara Jones, who relies on the aid to help feed her four children, warned of the impact amid the ongoing shutdown. The West Virginia Department of Human Services stated that benefits for November will be halted if the shutdown continues — prompting Governor Morrisey to send $1.1 million in emergency funds to support local food banks facing rising demand.
