Morgantown officials said the Ruby Summer Concert Series grew each year with free Friday concerts in June, July and August that drew larger crowds and more revenue.

They said next year the series will add some ticketed events to help pay for costly acts and that the official lineup will be announced by April 1—Almost Queen, a Queen tribute band, is set to open the show.

Lawmakers in Morgantown began meetings today at 4 p.m.—they will review school aid formulas and proposals aimed at addressing declining enrollment and school consolidation.

Del. Joe Statler said they plan to consider funding ideas from Tennessee while seeking to update public school codes.

State lawmakers begin monthly interim committee meetings today in Charleston and will hold over two dozen sessions through Tuesday, including two education sessions on Sunday.

The Mon County Health Department offers free STI testing and partner notification services for WVU students and Morgantown residents — tests include hepatitis, HIV, syphilis, chlamydia and gonorrhea.

Free testing is available on Mondays while paid services with faster turnaround are offered on other days and appointments are recommended.
