- ➤ WVU Arts and Entertainment will host the first Music on the Quad concert on Oct. 5 from 2 to 6 p.m. on the Agricultural Sciences Quad near the Evansdale Library as part of Fall Family Weekend—local students, faculty and community members can enjoy live performances by Grace Campbell, the Weevils, the 2 Sides and Atticus while following a clear bag policy with free parking and bus service available. - ➤ The Brad and Alys Smith Outdoor Economic Development Collaborative released its five-year impact report showing how shared-use paths, bike trails and greenways have boosted local outdoor recreation and economic growth. - ➤ Tourism in West Virginia hit a record last year with 77.2 million visitors and a $9.1 billion impact, officials said at the Governor’s Conference on Tourism at the Marriott at Waterfront Place in Morgantown. Gov. Morrisey said investments in natural attractions such as New River Gorge National Park—where visitor numbers jumped by 50% since its national park designation—will drive future growth.
