  • Eleven award-winning West Virginia authors will be featured at the 82nd Preston County Buckwheat Festival from Sept. 26-29 in Kingwood—this event will showcase top literary talent and give visitors a chance to meet the writers.  WV News

EDUCATION NEWS

  • Crews will soon begin work on the Evansdale water tower to clean its surface, repaint the Flying WV logo, and install new LED lighting—this project is funded by the WVU Foundation and sponsored by Hope Gas—partnering with local trades to enhance the university’s campus landmark. The upgrade will follow weather-dependent timelines and aims to improve the tower's appearance and safety.  MetroNews

  • West Virginia began Big 12 play on September 6th at Kansas at David Booth/Kansas Memorial Stadium at 6 p.m. after an emotional overtime win against Pitt — Kansas entered with a 2–1 record and a rested bye week, with Coach Rodriguez noting that effective quarterback play and focused practice prepared the team for new challenges.  MetroNews
