- ➤ Mountain Stage will return to Canady Creative Arts Center on Sunday (Sept. 21) at 7 p.m. with guest host David Mayfield and performances by Chuck Prophet and His Cumbia Shoes, The SteelDrivers, Basia Bulat, The Wildwoods, and Taylor-Rae, and it is the first of three University Arts Series shows that will be recorded for NPR Music. - ➤ WVU Arts and Entertainment and the WVU Foundation are calling for nominations for Mountaineer Week’s Most Loyal awards to honor those who show strong dedication to the university’s ideals—nominations must be submitted by Sept. 22. - ➤ Dr. Susan Newfield is honored by the WVU School of Nursing for her 35 years in nursing education that began in January 1990—she has combined classroom teaching with local clinical work and global health exchanges. West Virginia University
- ➤ All WVU-managed computers using Windows10 will be removed from the network on Oct. 1 to protect data security and support the upgrade to Windows11 after a two-year effort. - ➤ WVU Student Government Association President Colin Street and Vice President Rozaireo Jones outlined plans to boost student engagement by setting up mutual aid cabinets next to The Rack and restarting the Hardesty Festival of Ideas; they will also form new committees and host monthly student-faculty lunches to strengthen campus ties—$400,000 from a state grant will fund speaker programs for upcoming initiatives.
