- ➤ Boreman Hall had the most crime reports for the 2024-25 school year, recording 49 incidents this spring— a near 50% drop from 88 in the fall. The Daily Athenaeum

- ➤ Undergraduate students across the University's three campuses are invited to enter the Appalachian Scholars Contest to showcase creative work on topics affecting the Appalachian region—entries must be submitted by Oct. 3 and winners will be recognized during Mountaineer Week. - ➤ The Talent and Culture team will offer University employees a range of professional development courses for the fall semester — the offerings include a Leading Forward Series beginning Sept. 9 and Strengths-Based Pods in September through November to boost career and leadership skills. - ➤ Faculty and staff will join the FSAP Support Squad Book Club to discuss Brene Brown’s 'Braving the Wilderness' every Thursday at 4 p.m. from Sept 18 to Oct 23—sessions will be held at 1085 Van Voorhis Road, Suite 218-220 or on Zoom. West Virginia University
- ➤ Faculty, staff and students will be prompted to install the Okta Verify app starting Sept. 9 on the Morgantown campus—students begin on Sept. 11—as Duo Mobile remains active until it retires on Oct. 1, so users should not delete it until then. West Virginia University
- ➤ At WVU, the Division of Campus Engagement and Compliance launched the 'Your Voice: Day One and Beyond' program to help students during their first 90 days—known as the Red Zone when risks of sexual assault are higher. The three-phase campaign starts with an 'Awareness and Rights' period from Aug. 20 to Sept. 19 and will continue with community and empowerment activities through mid-November. The Daily Athenaeum
