- ➤ WVU partnered with ECMC Solutions yesterday to offer one-on-one counseling and free webinars to help current and former students with federal loans—options include reduced payments, forbearance and deferment. - ➤ Researchers using the WVU+kc system must review and close any protocols that are completed or never started by Oct.1 to move only active data into the new WRAP IRB module. IRB submissions will shift to the WVU Research Administration Portal in February 2026. West Virginia University

- ➤ At a state Board of Education meeting in Charleston, Paul Hardesty said he took offense to Gov. Patrick Morrisey calling board members unelected bureaucrats and urged that the state Supreme Court decide the vaccination dispute—he stressed that the board, confirmed by the Senate, would follow the court's ruling and apologized for the controversy before the new school year began. - ➤ Lake Lynn Generation used a FERC letter stating it did not violate its hydropower license during the summer drought as evidence in its defense against a lawsuit filed by Marina 1 LLC that alleges lowering Cheat Lake caused property damage—Judge Thomas Kleeh will soon decide whether to dismiss or remand the case.
