- ➤ Mountaineer Gas has filed two rate proposals with the state Public Service Commission to cover rising gas purchase costs and fund pipe replacement. If approved, the changes will raise the average customer’s bill by about $14.02 per month (with $12.51 starting Nov. 1 and an extra $2 from Jan. 1, 2026). MetroNews

- ➤ West Virginia University’s STEAM TAC begins its fourth year of educational outreach today—offering hands-on STEAM activities in local schools. The program will focus on expanding learning in science, technology, engineering, arts and math for local students. WV News
