- ➤ Mountaineer Gas Company submitted filings to the Public Service Commission on July 31 to request rate adjustments that cover higher gas production costs and upgrades to its pipeline network—if approved, residential customers using about 6 Mcf per month will see their bills rise from $80.39 to $92.90 starting November 1, with an added IREP charge effective January 1 for further increases. - ➤ Law enforcement officers in WV will target motorists who do not stop at red lights and stop signs as part of the 'Target Red' campaign that runs until August 15. The campaign — launched in Beckley in 2008 — has cut crashes by 60% since it began. MetroNews
- ➤ Morgantown will host the 56th West Virginia Municipal League Annual Conference next week as about 300 staff and officials from over 70 municipalities gather at the Morgantown Marriott at Waterfront Place for workshops and local tours—city leaders like Mayor Trumble and GIS Analyst Marvin Davis will open key sessions.
