CRIME NEWS
- ➤ Monongalia County Sheriff’s Office released its Wanted Wednesday report to share active arrest warrants for individuals charged with crimes across Monongalia County, nearby areas, and West Virginia. The report lists suspects facing charges from breaking in to assault and drug offenses—officials urge residents not to approach them and to call 911 if spotted. WDTV
EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ A revised Class Registration page is now available in the IT Help Center to help students, advisers, and staff register using STAR and Schedule Builder as well as drop classes, manage waitlists, and address common errors—providing current and clear guidance. The page is a collaboration among the Office of the Registrar, Information Technology Services, the Center for Learning, Advising and Student Success, and other academic units, and staff are urged to bookmark it for accurate information. - ➤ Between July 6 and 12, nearly 50 ninth and 10th graders from across West Virginia attended the Governor’s Computer Science Institute hosted by WVU Center for Excellence in STEM Education and the Department of Education—where they practiced robotics, coding, and other computer science skills. - ➤ Morgantown Municipal Airport will receive a $9.52 million FAA grant to start Phase 6 of its 1,001-foot runway extension project that will move 450,000 cubic yards of rock to form an embankment for future expansion. The work will support both the runway and the planned I-68 Commerce Park—this phase also requires a $500,000 city match with half expected from a state grant. MetroNews

- ➤ WVU finalized a second contract amendment for women's basketball coach Mark Kellogg on June 30—this deal raises his salary to $675,000 for the upcoming season and adjusts his buyout and retention bonus terms to potentially extend his contract through the 2031—32 season.
