- ➤ Monongalia County Schools are preparing discipline plans for elementary schools under a new state law that lets teachers remove students who act violently—ensuring safe classrooms after reports of dangerous behavior. Teachers will refer students to counselors and other help, and the plan must be ready before classes start on Aug. 19—guiding school staff as they implement the new rules. MetroNews
- ➤ West Virginia schools have boosted early literacy scores nearly 5% over three years and earned national recognition along with districts in Mississippi, Louisiana, and South Carolina—Cabell, Kanawha, Logan, Marion, Mercer, Monongalia, Ohio, Putnam, and Raleigh have shown marked improvements.
