- ➤ On Tuesday evening, local leaders at the Brookhaven Community Building received a $20,000 check from state Senators Mike Oliverio and Joey Garcia to support new ADA-accessible restrooms—officials say the project still needs to raise about $106,000 after a $126,000 loan secured initial funds. - ➤ The Dollar General at 228 High Street in Morgantown will close by September after serving the community for over 32 years. Employees will be offered transfers to one of four other local Dollar General stores as the company continues to operate in Morgantown. WDTV

- ➤ WVU President Gordon Gee wrote a farewell letter to the campus community as he prepares to step down on Monday after a four decade career — new President Michael T. Benson will take over Tuesday. MetroNews
- ➤ Beginning Thursday, July 31, the University will distribute Notice of Appointment letters electronically to eligible non-classified staff, faculty, and academic professionals via the Blue system — the letters include appointment details and new provisions for funding adjustments and retention incentive plans, and employees must sign them within 10 business days.
