- ➤ Dari-Delite, an ice cream shop at 3837 Earl L Core Road, is celebrating 40 years of service this summer by offering ice cream, milkshakes, sundaes and made-to-order fast food. Owner Johnny Nuce said he started the shop in 1985 with his late brother and noted his 88-year-old mother still makes weekday lunch specials (summer hours are 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. Monday-Saturday and 2 p.m. to 10 p.m. on Sunday) to meet customer demand. - ➤ Tajh Miller, 36, from Cumberland was arrested in Morgantown for beating and strangling a woman with a plastic bag after her mother reported the assault weeks ago—he now faces a $155,000 bond. WDTV

- ➤ The FAA has asked Morgantown Municipal Airport to start a planning process for new safety measures at the north end of its runway and the city council approved a grant agreement that matches a local contribution of $20,925 with $397,564 in federal funds. Airport Director Jon Vrabel said the plan will take six to nine months and tie the safety project to the planned runway extension + support additional property and hangar developments for larger aircraft. - ➤ Wyoming County and eight other counties used opioid settlement funds to pay their regional jail bills as a response to serious budget strains caused by the opioid crisis — a move allowed under state spending rules. - ➤ A new law will require members of West Virginia’s Central Abuse Registry to pay $125 each January and those on the sex offender registry to pay $125 from January 1 to June 30 in order to fund mental health services for deputies — failure to pay the fee will lead to a county court judgment lien that is lifted once the fee is paid.
