ACCIDENTS NEWS

  • A rollover accident occurred on I-68 near the Monongalia and Preston county line Friday morning when a passenger vehicle collided with a tractor trailer at 6:30 a.m. and rolled onto its top; one person was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.  WDTV

ENVIRONMENT NEWS

  • WVU researchers and members of the West Virginia GIS Technical Center built an online flood toolkit — a simple guide for towns to plan, act, and recover — that shows steps to get ready for floods.  WV News

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Morgantown City Council could repeal the camping ban since the city charter allows it—although Mayor Trumble said she is not involved in any conversations about a repeal after voters upheld the law in a close April referendum. Officials explained that the ordinance uses warnings, fines, and alternative sentencing, but limited shelter beds make it hard to offer proper shelter to those in need.  The Dominion Post
  • The Monongalia County Commission concluded its second round of opioid grant funding by awarding seven agencies a total of $454,900 from its share of opioid settlement dollars — Commissioner Sean Sikora said the commission approved about 60% of the requested funding amounts. The grants follow prior allocations that brought the county’s total funding to over $1.3 million.  The Dominion Post
