Hospital leaders in West Virginia warned that if the Senate passes the Big Beautiful Bill later this month, Medicaid cuts and work requirements will force some rural hospitals to reduce services or close, which could hurt local care and economies.

More than 300 rural hospitals nationwide are at risk—seven in West Virginia—if the proposed changes go into effect.
