  • More than 200 residents gathered downtown Morgantown Saturday for the national ‘No Kings’ protest—chanting calls for justice as they waved handmade signs.  WV News

EDUCATION NEWS

  • On Friday, WVU’s Board of Governors voted to terminate its contract with Sodexo for cause due to ongoing issues with food quality and service—WVU will remove Sodexo from all campus facilities by June 29 and a one-year bridge contract with an unnamed vendor will begin on or around June 30.  The Dominion Post

HEALTH NEWS

  • WVU’s chapter of A Moment of Magic works to uplift children by having student volunteers visit hospitals and nearby houses with Disney-inspired characters to ease fears and bring comfort. The group will soon hold reading events and mental health workshops—volunteers audition and fundraise for roles to deliver tailored support to medically vulnerable children.  The Daily Athenaeum

SPORTS NEWS

  • On Saturday morning, divers Sophie Verzyl and Anna Kwong won gold in the women’s 3-meter synchronized dive at Peak Health Aquatic Center by scoring 277.56—274.71 after trailing by seven points, and they executed a risky new dive that gave them the win. They built a strong bond in just a month that helped them overcome their rivals.  The Dominion Post
  • Morgantown high schools named their top 10 prep athletes to watch for the 2025-26 season—featuring Kayli Kellogg, a top state-ranked girls’ basketball player, and Jimmy Gregg, a leading football punter.
