- ➤ The Hope Bash fundraiser for River Road Volunteer Fire Department and WVU Medicine Children’s hospital is scheduled for June 14 at 2:30 p.m. at the Morgantown Marriott Waterfront Place — it will offer a Southern-style buffet, an elimination drawing for a $5,000 prize, a silent auction, and live music from The Sages. EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ Starting June 23, the WVU Upward Bound summer program will provide free breakfast, lunch and dinner to about 45 high school students at Café Evansdale every Monday through Friday until July 31, except on July 4 and July 14. The program, funded through the USDA Summer Food Service Program, is designed to help students prepare for college life. West Virginia University

- ➤ Gov. Patrick Morrisey appointed Charles Wilfong and Terry Hauser to serve on the WVU Board of Governors Tuesday to meet a new requirement for having a board member with agricultural expertise.
