GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • On April 16, the City Council voted to hire Jamie Miller as Morgantown’s new city manager after a four-month search. SPORTS NEWS

  • The Morgantown and University High School softball teams earned sectional titles Friday at Mylan Park to advance to the Region I championship series for a chance to reach the state tournament. The regionals will be held the week of May 19—24.  The Dominion Post
  • The Mountaineers won 10-3 against Kansas State on Saturday to reach 40 wins and they can clinch the Big 12 title with one win in their final four league games. The team will finish their series today at 2 p.m. against Kansas State — and they will also win outright if TCU and Arizona State lose their games.  MetroNews
  • On Friday night, the Mountaineers lost 8-7 to Kansas State at Tointon Family Stadium in Manhattan—Kansas State erased a five-run deficit in the ninth inning with a walk-off hit.
