- ➤ Campus community members can drop off unwanted items at any residence hall or donation station in Morgantown to support the Blue and Gold Mine Sale until May 14. The sale is scheduled for May 17 at Milan Puskar Stadium+ each year, about 25 tons of goods are diverted from landfills and more than $250,000 is raised for United Way. West Virginia University

- ➤ James Evans, 35, from Horsham, Pa, was sentenced to 19 years and 7 months in federal prison for trafficking fentanyl, methamphetamine, and cocaine in Morgantown — federal officials reported that a search warrant uncovered over 150 grams of fentanyl, additional drugs, and multiple firearms in the apartment. - ➤ Governor Patrick Morrisey signed an executive order to allow school immunization exemptions based on religious and moral beliefs even though state law permits only medical exemptions, and state officials soon reversed their guidelines under his direction+lawmakers and experts say the move will face a court challenge for lacking proper support. - ➤ Morgantown High School boys’ lacrosse team won 18-5 over Martinsburg on Wednesday night at Pony Lewis Field + they will play today in the semifinals against the winner of the University and Fairmont Senior game. The Dominion Post
- ➤ Tuesday night, Pitt ended an eight game losing streak against WVU with a 10 to 9 walk off win at Charles L. Cost Field in Pittsburgh when a three run home run by Jayden Melendez spurred their comeback. WVU led 9 to 5 before the final play — they will try to earn their 40th win in Friday’s Big 12 series at Kansas State. The Dominion Post

- ➤ Bridgeport’s pitcher Jacob Stavrakis allowed one run in the first inning at Mylan Park on Wednesday but then threw six shutout frames to give his team a 4-1 win over Morgantown—his varied pitches helped him overcome the early error.
