- ➤ WVU launches 5th Fridays, a professional development series starting May 29 at Mountainlair, Greenbrier Room from 10 to 11:30 a.m.; the sessions give employees a chance to reflect on workplace culture and learn simple ways to boost connection, with follow-up meetings planned on July 31 and Oct. 30. - ➤ A WVU student from Charles Town has received a Critical Language Scholarship to study Mandarin in Tainan City, Taiwan for an 8-week program this summer. He plans to build his foreign service skills through a fully funded experience that immerses him in local culture. WVU Today

- ➤ The West Virginia Athletic Directors Association named coaching staffs for the North-South Basketball All-Star Games on Friday, June 19 at the South Charleston Community Center. South teams include Garland (Rabbit) Thompson and Amy Chapman, while North All-Stars will be led by Brock Melko and Rob Hawkins; rosters will come soon. MetroNews
