- ➤ Appalachian Power held its twice-yearly storm response drill today at Valley Park Conference Center in Hurricane to test drone use for quickly finding downed lines and speeding repairs. - ➤ WVU named four undergraduates Goldwater Scholars & Caden Ginter, Mason Powell, Cloe Ratliff and Camndon Reed, marking the first time the award honored four students. - ➤ Dr. Sarah Armstrong Tucker said a statewide campus safety symposium held Wednesday attracted over 150 representatives from colleges & universities to discuss campus mapping for improved emergency response. - ➤ WVU wide receiver Cyrus Traugh (a Parkersburg native) won the 2026 Tommy Nickolich Memorial Award before football began at the Gold Blue Spring Festival.
