  • Morgantown leaders revived The 100 People Who Care program—a nonprofit funding effort where members commit $250 per quarter to help local charities and choose one to receive a $25,000 donation. The meeting will be held on April 27 at Smokin’ J’s Rib and Brewhouse.  MetroNews

CULTURE NEWS

  • Students and community members gathered today at Morgantown Marketplace for the WVU International Street Festival. The WVU Office of Global Affairs hosted cultural performances, food trucks and vendors offering handmade items to celebrate local unity.  WDTV

EDUCATION NEWS

  • Military Signing Week is underway at 45 local high schools where students are publicly pledging their service to the armed forces. The event runs today through Friday, April 24 and is coordinated by the Department of Education and the Common Ground Partnership.  MetroNews

  • After finishing spring practices at WVU’s Gold-Blue Spring Festival, head coach Rich Rodriguez said the team showed progress with new quarterbacks stepping up, as they enter a second offseason and will resume workouts in August ahead of the season opener against Coastal Carolina on Sept. 5.  The Dominion Post
  • WVU pitchers combined for a two-hit performance to win 7-3 over Houston this past weekend. Chansen Cole led with a 68-pitch outing (his sixth win this season), as the Mountaineers now sit second in the Big 12 and will host Pittsburgh Tuesday.  MetroNews
