- ➤ Mylan Park in Morgantown will add new amenities including West Virginia's first multi-acre BMX facility designed as the world’s first all-inclusive wheel park, with plans to award a bid by late July and start fall construction so it can open in early 2026. A fully accessible playground is set for a ribbon cutting in June, the KOA Campground will phase in from mid-May through full operation by July, and a $15 million hockey arena is expected to open by October — these projects total more than $30 million in new investments. - ➤ West Virginia University Police issued a Community Notice Saturday after fast-moving storms knocked out power in Morgantown and left several campus buildings without electricity—Facilities Management coordinated with Mon Power and other agencies to repair a barn roof and monitor restored service at the Health Sciences Center. - ➤ Governor Patrick Morrisey named veteran lawyer Brent Wolfinbarger as the new PEIA director—he served as a Senior Deputy Attorney General and helped lead the Medicaid Fraud Control Unit since 2020. - ➤ Football coach Rich Rodriguez added two new players on Saturday morning when tight end Grayson Barnes from Northern Illinois and defensive back Nick Taylor from Appalachian State posted their moves on social media—both players will help the team in the fall.
