ECONOMY NEWS

  • The Visit Mountaineer Country Convention and Visitors Bureau reported strong tourism growth in 2025 and outlined plans to boost future travel in north-central West Virginia. The annual report signals a promising outlook for local visitors and businesses.  WV News

EDUCATION NEWS

  • State Treasurer Larry Pack said more than 20,000 students have applied for full funding after eligibility was expanded to include private school and homeschool students. The deadline for new applications for the 2026-2027 school year is June 15 online.  WDTV
  • Monongalia County Schools have parked their GreenPower Motor bus fleet after federal inspectors found persistent mechanical issues (brake, wiring, and seating concerns).
