  • At last week’s Focus Forward event in Morgantown, Marshall University President Brad Smith and local leaders discussed how AI can shape ethical teaching & business practices. Experts said new technology could boost personalized learning and workforce training in our community.  MetroNews

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • WVU and Data Driven WV have launched the West Virginia Wayfinder, an 18-month assessment to show how nearly three-quarters of $1 billion opioid settlement funds will support substance use disorder services in 55 counties. The tool (with input from local officials and service providers) will guide future fund allocation.  MetroNews

SPORTS NEWS

  • In Morgantown on Sunday, UCF’s Camden Wicker pitched a seven-inning shutout that led the Knights to a 5-1 win and series victory over the Mountaineers (at Kendrick Family Ballpark). WVU, ranked No. 13, will prepare to play Marshall Tuesday.  MetroNews
  • Latimer brothers reunited as teammates at WVU today with senior Geimere playing safety and nickel while freshman Amari serves as running back. The siblings, who grew up playing 1-on-1 basketball, transferred from Wisconsin & now share on-field tips to boost the team’s performance.  The Dominion Post
  • On Sunday, Honor Huff led WVU to an 89-82 overtime win against Oklahoma at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas with 38 points and record breaking 3-pointers. He earned game MVP honors in his final championship performance.  The Dominion Post
