- ➤ Deckers Creek in Morgantown is recovering after 25 rainbow trout were released on March 27 (showing improved water quality) and Friends of Deckers Creek will host a trout fishing event at 9 a.m. Saturday during the annual cleanup. - ➤ 13-year-old Andrew Grigsby from Morgantown will compete in the National Drive, Chip and Putt Championship at Augusta National on Easter Sunday, where the event will be televised at 8:00 a.m. His wins at local qualifiers in Pa. earned him a spot among the top competitors in his age group. - ➤ Central Florida defeated West Virginia 5-0 on Friday at Kendrick Family Ballpark, with UCF pitcher Braden Smith (injured by a line drive to the face) sustaining an early hit; the teams will meet at 2 p.m. today in the second game of a three-game series. MetroNews

- ➤ WVU football received its second commitment for the 2027 class as running back Lee Prince Jr. announced he would join the Mountaineers on social media Thursday afternoon. - ➤ The West Virginia Sports Writers Association announced its Class AAAA All-State Boys Basketball teams, naming Noah Lewis as first team captain from state champion George Washington and recognizing local players (Max Frey and Waylon Colistra) for their performance.
