- ➤ Jonathan Lee Mathis, a Kentucky man, was arrested on Sunday for malicious assault and strangulation near Mont Chateau Road and the Ices Ferry Bridge in Cheat Lake after a witness saw him drag his girlfriend from the back of a SUV—she suffered severe head injuries from a rock attack. WDTV
- ➤ A Morgantown man facing a state murder charge was acquitted in a separate federal gun case—he remains under the state charge despite the federal decision. WV News

- ➤ Javon Small, a senior from WVU Men’s Basketball, declared for the NBA Draft on Instagram Saturday—ending his college career after he averaged 18.6 points per game and earned first-team All-Big 12 honors. He started at East Carolina, played two seasons at Oklahoma State, and was a key player at WVU as he prepares to pursue his professional career. WDTV
- ➤ West Virginia football coach Rich Rodriguez said he has not named a starting quarterback for the Blue-Gold spring showcase as his six quarterbacks compete for the job.
