- ➤ Parents in Medicine and Operation Blue Sky will host an Easter egg hunt on April 18th at the Health Sciences Center Memorial Garden—families can join for a $10 donation and take part in activities like egg decorating at 4:30 p.m. and races at 5 p.m. and 5:15 p.m. West Virginia University
EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ The Division of Student Life will hold a farmers market outside the Mountainlair on Wednesday, April 2 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. and vendors include Almost Heaven Pepperoni Rolls, Hinerman Hill Farm, Jazzy’s Sweet Spot, Marie x3, Mayfield Farm, Motown Treats, R&A Honey and Bees, Rollie Pollie Egg Roll Factory, and Shana Cakes macarons. - ➤ On March 26, WVU supporters donated a record $46.2 million during the 24-hour Day of Giving, with over 10,300 gifts supporting student programs, scholarships, research and campus improvements. More than 1,300 first-time donors contributed and larger gifts included $2.15 million from Terry Stockman, $750,000 from Roger O’Dell and $279,000 from Nemacolin. WVU Today

- ➤ On West Virginia Morning, Sen. Joey Garcia and Sen. Ryan Weld talked with News Director Eric Douglas about a bill that would end home rule across the state—this change would stop cities from making their own rules. Host Trey Kay checked on the Safer Kentucky Law and its impact as tougher crime rules and a possible ban on public camping are under review—his report looked at these developments. - ➤ On Monday the Senate voted 25—8 for Senate Bill 579 and sent it to the House of Delegates; the bill would strip Morgantown and 19 other cities of non‑discrimination ordinances. Ash Orr of Morgantown Pride said the changes are forcing some residents to pack up and leave — a reaction that has led others to seek help with moving. WDTV

- ➤ WVU has been awarded $2.7M to increase access to home care—its bundled intervention trains family caregivers to care for loved ones with end-stage heart failure. West Virginia University
