EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ Hayley Trotter, a nontraditional WVU student who moved from Utah Valley to pursue her education, is merging fashion, soil science and horticulture at Davis College while working at the Small Farm Center + micro-mill lab. She is shaping a career in West Virginia agriculture and strengthening local connections. West Virginia University
- ➤ The WVU Campus Food Garden will host a seed propagation workshop at Evansdale Greenhouse Monday (Mar. 30) from 6 to 8 p.m. Participants will learn basic seed germination, sow garden varieties, and create seed snails to support fresh produce donations, with space limited to 30 attendees. - ➤ Parking lot ST-6 at Blaney House will close on Monday (Mar. 30) for improvement work on the WVU Water Tower, with full reopening planned in May. Alternative parking will be available at ST-1, ST-4, ST-9, and the Hope Coliseum lot. West Virginia University
- ➤ On March 25, supporters donated over $22M with 11,000 gifts for WVU’s Day of Giving, benefiting academic programs, health care, and campuses in Keyser and Beckley while every state joined in to boost scholarship funds and seed innovative projects. WVU Today
- ➤ OLLI at WVU and the Committee for Retired Faculty will host 'Does West Virginia Have a Rainforest?' by Kirsten Stephan at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday, Apr. 1 on Zoom. The talk will explore the state’s forest plant communities and environmental conditions. West Virginia University

- ➤ Governor Morrisey signed Senate Bill 878 on Wednesday to create West Virginia’s first Office of Entrepreneurship under state leadership. The office takes effect July 1 and will host an Entrepreneurs' Conference in Morgantown on April 28, as noted by Secretary of State Kris Warner. WDTV

- ➤ WVU baseball star Gavin Kelly will lead the Mountaineers in a three-game series versus No.22 Arizona State today at 9:30 p.m. on Friday, with games on Saturday & Sunday. His hot start follows former Mountaineer J.J. Wetherholt’s MLB debut with the Cardinals. The Dominion Post
- ➤ Crosstown Class AAAA softball rivals met Wednesday at Lynch Field, with University’s senior Sophia Lehosit pitching a complete game for a 5-1 win while Morgantown High will travel to Preston on Thursday.
