- ➤ The Morgantown girls’ basketball team lost 62—45 to top-seeded Spring Valley in the Class AAAA state championship game in Charleston on Saturday. Sophomore Tatum DeVries led Morgantown with 16 points as Spring Valley built an early lead that they could not overcome. The Dominion Post
- ➤ The Timberwolves from Spring Valley beat the Mohigans 62-45 at the Charleston Coliseum on a game where they shot 49 percent and held Morgantown to 12 field goals and eight paint points. The win capped their season and earned them their first state championship — they led for more than 27 minutes at the end. MetroNews
- ➤ The West Virginia rifle team secured its 20th national championship for the first time since 2017 after senior Natalie Perrin scored 598 and freshman Ashlyn Blake scored 597 — edging runner-up Kentucky by one point — with Coach Jon Hammond leading his team in 19 seasons in Morgantown. WDTV
