- ➤ Incoming Provost Beverly Wendland visited the Morgantown Campus on Jan. 8 (she said academics are the heart of a university) and will officially start on July 1. She aims to build strong connections with faculty and staff. West Virginia University
- ➤ TEDxWVU is seeking speakers to share ideas on 'The Art of Resilience' in talks under 18 minutes + applicants must submit by Jan. 18 for the March 29 event at Mountainlair Gluck Theater. West Virginia University

- ➤ WVU experts Anurag Srivastava and Shikha Sharma are seeking NSF funding for a project that uses physics-aware AI and geothermal heat pumps to boost grid resilience during winter — measures that could reduce heating bills and prevent outages in West Virginia and western Pennsylvania. - ➤ WVU Medicine Golisano Children's Hospital opened a new pediatric outpatient clinic in Morgantown on Friday, expanding care services for young patients. Officials (hospital spokesperson) said the clinic will improve treatment access in the community. WV News

- ➤ Morgantown High sophomore Leah Greeny was named the Gatorade WV Volleyball Player of the Year after leading her team to the state championship on Friday morning.
