- ➤ The Health Plan donated $300,000 to 12 local food banks in West Virginia through its Spirit of Giving campaign, giving each food bank $25,000 to support hunger relief. WV News

- ➤ Retro Reload is opening a new gaming venue on High Street today and will hold its grand opening on Jan. 17 with free play from 1-3 p.m. The venue offers hourly rental consoles and birthday party packages. WDTV

- ➤ WVU is launching a mentorship program for first- and second-year first-generation college students on the Morgantown campus, where participants will be paired with experienced upperclassmen & faculty who share their background. Interested students must apply by Jan 14. West Virginia University
